With hot weather forecast we thought we'd bring together some great places for a refreshing summer stroll with the option for your canine companions to exercise in cool, shady woodlands or take a bit of a dip to cool down…

Woodlands
The Forestry Commission has a Top Spots For Cool Dogs list of great forests and woods in England where dogs can enjoy a walk on a hot sunny day in a cool shady environment - places on the Top Spots list include:
  • Haldon Forest Park near Exeter
  • Sherwood Pines Forest Park, Nottinghamshire
  • Thetford Forest, Norfolk/ Suffolk border
  • The New Forest, Hampshire
  • Delamere Forest Park, Cheshire
  • Hamsterley Forest, County Durham
