Dog Friendly Ambleside

Borrans Park, Ambleside
The Lake District is a gorgeous place to stay for a holiday and a great place for days out but, thanks to the number of sheep roaming the fells, dog owners naturally have to be careful when out walking with their pets.

If you want to find places where your dogs can let off a bit of steam safely aware from livestock then there are several options in Ambleside including:

* Borrans Park on the shores of Lake Windermere at the Waterhead end of town
* Rothay Park, accessed near the church off Compston Road close to the centre of town
*Hayes Garden Centre, Lake Road, Ambleside- dogs are not allowed in this garden centre but the centre does provide a designated Dog Walk, which can be accessed through the back of the centre's car park. The dog walk is surrounded by trees and hedges so it's a safe heaven for your dogs to sniff around and run about
