Dog Friendly Walks in Lake District

Grizedale Forest

The Forestry Commission operates two amazing forests in the Lake District and Grizedale is one of them. Situated in the heart of the Lakes, close to Hawkshead, not far from Ambleside, you'll find lots of dog friendly trails to explore throughout the woods and forest here. There's a trail to suit all levels of ability - whether you and your dogs want just a short stroll or a full day hike amongst the spectacular scenery.

If you visit the Lakeland forests website you can even enjoy a short video giving you a taster of the great scenery around Grizedale; on the same website you can also learn all about Grizedale as well as download the trail map for the forest.
